We met May 20th, 2001 when Bethany began working at Ron Don's Village Pub in Trumansburg. Erik had been working there as a cook for a year and we quickly became friends. After our first date (June 15th, 2001) to see the movie Tomb Raider in the theater, we were inseparable. We hung out every day at work, and spent the evenings talking and watching movies. Erik went away to college in the fall, leaving Bethany with an engraved silver heart necklace with their names on either side of the heart. We both knew a relationship had developed that was more than a summer fling. Staying together meant making a long distance relationships (90 miles) work, despite Erik being in college and Bethany remaining in high school.
Fast forward several years ... we both graduated in May 2006! Erik graduated from the Rochester Institute of Technology with a Bachelor's degree in Computer Science and Bethany graduated from the University of Rochester with a Bachelor's degree in Psychology. Erik will be graduating again from RIT in May 2007 with a Master's degree in Business Administration. Bethany will be graduating again in June 2007 with a Master's degree in Marketing from the Simon School of Business.
